Data were collected during an automobile survey in Kyiv, Chernigiv and Sumy regions on 1–4.12. Total route made about 350 km (230 km of the open landscape). 198 buzzards were counted on 1–2.12 (5,9 ± 1,1 ind./10 km of overall route or 8,9 ± 1,5 ind./10 km in open landscape). 67 birds were counted on 4.12 (2,0 ± 0,4 ind./10 km and 3,3 ± 0,5 ind./10 km, respectively). Buzzards occurred mainly on fields and pastures. 58,6 % and 55,2 % were observed on the ground. [Ukrainian].
