The value of beauty of birds in their conservation is discussed. In Antiquity and in the Middle Ages people practically were not interest in the beauty of nature. Only at the end of XIX - beginning of XX cent. the movement for conservation of nature, spread in West Europe and North America, began to consider the protection of beauty of the wildlife as a key motivation of its activity. At present this purpose must be one of main in bird protection. Ukrainian legislation does not give attention to the protection of beauty of wild animals. Philosophical aspects and tasks of education are discussed. [Russian].
