Autumnal gathering of water birds on waterbodies of Brest Palessie in 2002. - A.V. Abramchuk, S.V. Abramchuk, A.A. Serbun, I.A. Bogdanovich. - Berkut. 12 (1-2). 2003. - P. 128-142.
Data were collected in south-west part of Brest region (Belarus). Regular counts of birds were carried out on 6 stations, mainly on big fish ponds. Species composition of migrants was specified, 5 species were found in the region for the first time (Spoonbill, Little Egret, Red-breasted Merganser, Common Scoter, Great Black-headed Gull). Species composition and structure of groups are described. Results of study are compared with data for some regions in Poland (Tables 5–7, Fig. 3). Study area has the most species diversity and number of birds. Fish pond “Novoselki” is the most important object for migrating water birds. Total numbers of migrants during the whole period of autumn migration is estimated in 20 000 individuals. [Russian].
